Simon Gallup - The Cure

I am a full time bass player for The Cure.

I first heard of Dan through a stroke of luck, I was driving and for some reason Andover local radio came on and Dan had an advertisement on, since I had recently had a bass painted (by coincidence by his friend Caitlin Pearce) I needed the bass set up and along with another couple of basses I headed over to his studio

The first thing that struck me was while I was waiting at the door I heard him playing guitar and noticed his fluidity and skill which made me realise this was someone who knew about guitars and basses, the second thing that struck me was his warmth, friendliness and enthusiasm. I left the instruments with him just expecting a normal set up, service but by watching instagram I saw he was going way beyond that and it was almost like a complete rebuild !!

I picked the basses up and they played superbly (easier to play, intonation perfect and pick up height just spot on) in fact in all the time I've been a professional bassist I've never had such a good set up

In summary ,I cannot recommend Dan highly enough, he is professional, friendly and takes this side of his many talents completely seriously and would advise anybody thats looking for a similar kind of service to go to Dan
